HUMAN ERGONOMICS

Most of the common references to “ergonomics” emphasize the interaction between products, processes and the human body, with the focus given to redesign of the products and processes. My thought is that the focus should begin with the human in this picture! What good is it to have state-of-the-art equipment if the person using it has poor posture, poor habits or fatigue? I define human ergonomics as creating the best and healthiest body, upright and strong, in order to effectively utilize the best equipment.

This emphasis in design is wonderful, but it addresses only one piece of the problem. The key to success is you. When you bring a balanced body with good posture into a well-designed space, you have all the ingredients for a successful venture. Performing the PowerStructure stretches several times a day as a routine keeps your body alignment positive – it creates a comfortable synergy between you and your environment, preventing to a degree physical stresses that plague us.

We are surrounded by devices that were created to make our lives better. Technology expands daily in our work lives and in home life. What we need to guard against is having these “Helpers” turn into a negative for our bodies.
